Given some past and recent discussion, as well as my own violation of some principles that I try and adhere to, this is to remind myself and others here of some guidelines for ownership in Diamonds and Rust. I hope you’ll find it useful for this league and others and that we can all follow them to build and maintain a quality league:
1. Being kind is more important than being right.
2. Seek first to understand and then to be understood.
3. Act like an owner. If you see a problem or an issue try to fix it and offer a constructive solution.
4. Praise in public, criticize in private. If you have an issue with a rule, a decision or someone’s behavior, please contact one of the commissioners or reach out to an owner directly and reason things out.
5. We all have lives outside of fantasy baseball. You never know what’s going on for another owner. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Thanks Robert. Well said! Appreciate your time putting this out there. I for one get caught up in the emotion of the game at times myself. Good to keep this on top of mind.
